About: Pura Vida is a tapas restaurant serving Latino inspired tapas created by Chef Hector Santiago. Pura Vida serves tapas six nights a week, and on Sunday nights serves it Cena Latina – a three course Latino style Sunday Supper featuring rice dishes from around Latin America.

Since opening in 2001, Pura Vida has received numerous awards, including “Best Tapas” (Atlanta Magazine, Sunday Paper, Creative Loafing, and more), “Restaurant of the Year” by the AJC, and “Best Exotic Drinks”, and “Best Group Dining” (CitySearch.com). Chef Hector Santiago has achieved national recognition, including being a two-time James Beard “Best Chef of the Southeast” nominee, and being named a “Rising Star Chef” by StarChefs.com, He has also been awarded the “Innovative Cuisine Award” by Santee Magazine, and appeared on Season 6 of Top Chef- Las Vegas.

As founding members of the Atlanta Street Food Coalition, Chef Hector and his wife Leslie, are hoping to help bring great street food to Atlanta. Chef Hector’s “El Burro Pollo” Chicken Burrito Stand is one of the street food concepts that he is doing. There are more to come in the future.
