About: Southern Komfort Food’s specialty is down-home cooking….comfort food…the kind that reminds you of your grandma’s hugs. But SoKo’s food is not just any comfort food…it’s healthy comfort food…made from the finest ingredients. Everything normally fried in grease is air fried without grease. Starchy, fattening foods have most of the starch removed…but not so you’d notice. Vegetables are flavored to perfection.
Bobby and Charlotte Swafford, the two feisty Seniors who founded Southern Komfort Food are typical of today’s Baby Boomers. They are entering their sixties filled with enthusiasm and enjoying the freedom that comes with this stage of life.
When the harsh realities of the current economic downturn severely altered many of their retirement plans, they decided to think outside the box and look at their extended work-lives as an opportunity for a new adventure. But, rather than compile a bucket list of things they wanted to do before they died, they chose to continue to follow the dreams they had when they were young.
Both of them were happiest when they were together in the kitchen, so they combined Bobby’s Southern Cooking roots with Charlotte’s baking and entrepreneurial skills, and the concept for Southern Komfort Food (SoKoFood) came alive.
Most people who’ve eaten the Swafford’s food say it was one of the best meals they ever had. Now you can enjoy it too…experience the nostalgia of a Southern childhood, and taste all that love wrapped up in a delicious, wholesome meal.
Southern Komfort Food is run out of a fully licensed and insured kitchen in Fayetteville, Georgia. It is known best for turning an event into a fun and unique experience. The truck is available for private parties and is capable of serving large crowds a broad menu, ranging from hot dogs to high-end hors d’oeuvres. The SoKo team is also available for corporate events and luncheons as well as TV/Film production catering.
